20 APC politicians jostle for Kogi governorship election

Not less than 20 aspirants are vying for the Kogi State governorship election.

Governor Idris Wada (retd), faces stiff competition, as he seeks re-election for another 4-year tenure.

The governorship poll is scheduled for November 21 by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Although most of the 20 potential aspirants haven’t yet obtained their nomination forms, 17 of them are expected to contest for the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress during its primary slated for August 29.

The aspirants from Kogi East Senatorial District are; Abubukar Audu, Senator Alex Kadiri, Nicolas Ugbane and James Ocholi.

Those from the Western part of the state are; Alhaji Yahaya Bello from the Central Senatorial District; Chief Olushola Olumoroti, Alhaji Baba Ali, and Dr. Habeeb Yakeen.

Others include; Nda Dichie, Mr. Shuaibu Ahmed, Prof. Yusuf Obaje, Alhaji Muhammed Abdullahi and Salihu Atawudi, who also hail from the Eastern part of the state. Mr. Rotimi Obadofin and Mr. Clarance Olafemi, also from the Western part of the state as well as Gen. Yusuf Abubakar (retd) and Senator Nurudeen Abatemi-Usman from the Central Senatorial District.
