Donald ‘underdog’ Trump is the last man standing

2016 is fast becoming the year of triumph for the ‘Unexpected’.

Barely 24 hours after Premier League underdogs, Leicester City shocked the world and clinched the crown for the 2015/2016 English Premier League season, another ‘underdog’ has emerged victorious in what has been a rather astonishing United States presidential campaign.

According to CNN, John Kasich, who is running against Trump for the Republican nomination ticket, has suspended his campaign, hours after Ted Cruz, also another rival called it quits on his campaign.

To this effect, Donald Trump is  the sole presidential candidate of the Republican party for the US presidential election.

Of the 17 GOP candidates that began the campaign for the presidential slot, Donald Trump’s ambition was upon announcement in 2015 described as laughable by hordes of seasoned political analysts and commentators.

However laughable it was back then, it certainly can’t be a joke anymore – that first, there were 17… now its just Trump.

Who’s laughing now?
