LASU gets new Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Fidelis Njokanma

Prof. Fidelis Njokanma has been appointed as the new acting Vice-Chancellor of the Lagos State University, Ojo.

Njokanma’s appointment was announced on Friday, November 6, by the Lagos State Government.

Deputy Governor of the state, Dr.Oluranti Adebule, communicated the appointment via a letter sent to the Registrar of the university, Lewis Akinwunmi.

Njokanma, currently the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), will replace Prof. John Obafunwa, as Acting Vice-Chancellor.

Obafunwa, whose tenure ended last October 31, presided over a turbulent period in the institution’s history.

The governing council of the university, led by Prof. Adebayo Ninalowo, recommended the appointment of Njokanma.

Njokanma is expected to serve as acting-VC pending the appointment of a substantive vice-chancellor.
