Seeing this AD was a real shocker to me. Freaking 500,000 Naira just to play FIFA 17 on PS4, with a registration fee of N2000. That’s like the daily transportation fare of the average Nigerian… Are you kidding me? Seriously?

Okay, let’s talk about the competition cos I know you want to know more about it. The competition is organized by The League of Extraordinary Gamers and will start on the 5th of August, 2017 and end on the 9th of September.

The competition will accommodate groups of 5 players each and then winners in the group stages will proceed to the knockout rounds and then the finals, the emerging winner gets the 500,000 Naira.

The preliminaries will span 4 weekends between the 5th of August, 2017 and the 27th of August, 2017, then the finals will hold on the 9th of September, 2017. For the guys doing day jobs, I think this is your time to have a shot at something fun, entertaining and rewarding cos you’re probably not going to work on weekends.

The matches will hold on weekends as earlier stated and for those of you worrying about distance, there are venues on Lagos Mainland and Lagos Island (specifically at Ikeja and Lekki, exact locations disclosed after registration) where the preliminaries will hold concurrently.

Now, that’s what I call AWESOME. So, the winners of both regions will meet for the grand finale which has been tagged as the “Main Event” on the 9th of September, 2017.

This main event is where the third place matches will also hold and awards will be given.

Trust me, if you play PS4 and you trash your friends at FIFA 17 or even if they trash you, I think you should grab your pads and start prepping for this competition. And if you’re a PS3 gamer, go and practice on PS4…this is a huge opportunity, trust me.
