[The Legislative Blog]: The House of Reps staged a standing ovation for the unpaid Falcons? Really?

Sometimes, it’s hard to understand what goes on in the heads of our leaders.

On 3 December, the Super Falcons emerged winners of the African Women Cup of Nations and for the eighth time but since they arrived Nigeria, it’s been sorrow, tears and blood as the Federal Government has till date, not paid the team their allowances and bonuses.

Think of every trivial, untenable excuse in the book; we’ve heard a truck load of rubbish from the FG, NFF, the Ministers of Information and Sports about why the Falcons are yet to be paid. But that’s not the point now.

The House of Representatives at its plenary session yesterday staged a standing ovation for the Falcons. Wait! Why? What? Really?

A standing ovation after almost two weeks of victory and the disgraceful manner the Nigerian government has treated the team?

All 360 of you House of Reps members should bury your heads in shame! original
