BREAKING: Lekan Shonde to be tried for wife’s murder

Lekan Shonde, the husband alleged to have killed his wife, will go on trial for murder.

This information was made known by the Lagos State Police Command, Punch Newspapers reports.

Lekan was accused of beating his wife to death after her lifeless body was found locked in their Egbeda, Lagos home with their 2 children while he was on the run from the police.

He would subsequently present himself to the police after 3 days as a fugitive and was kept in police custody at the Panti police station.

Lekan has repeatedly denied being culpable for the death of his wife.

Based on the result of the autopsy carried out on her corpse, it was discovered that Ronke Shonde did not die from the violent marks on her face, rather she died of respiratory seizure as a result of water in her head and some other injuries.

The autopsy was carried out by a pathologist, Dr Shoyemi at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.
