A 24-year-old man, Lanre Falodu, who was taken for deliverance at a Pentecostal Church, has committed suicide in the church premises.

According to a police source, the deceased brother, Tunde, had taken him to the church located at Imola area of Owo to seek spiritual solution to his problem.

Falodu, who had reportedly been in church for some time, reportedly escaped at about 5:30 am on the ill-fated day.

His lifeless body was later discovered hanging from a tree within the church premises, by the pastor of the church, who informed Police in Owo.

The body of the deceased was removed by a team of homicide detectives, and deposited at Owo General Hospital morgue.

It is believed that the deceased might have had some mental problems, which necessitated his going to the church for spiritual deliverance.

Ondo State Police Command spokesperson, Wole Ogodo, while commenting on the matter, said the issue was yet to be reported at the state police command in Akure, but, however, promised to contact Owo Divisional Police Officer, DPO.

The state police command is expected to carry out an autopsy on his corpse to ascertain the cause of death.
