A man has been arrested in Delta state, after reporting himself to the police, following the murder of his wife over claims of sexual immorality.
The accused, Michael Akpore, a native of Urhiephron, Ughelli South LGA, killed his 32-year-old wife, Julia Akpore, for allegedly being promiscuous. He reportedly lured her to a bush along Iwhrekan/Ekakpamren Road, where he butchered her.
Delta Command police spokesperson, Mrs Celestina Kalu, released a statement indicating that the suspect reported himself to the Jeremi Police Division on Thursday, 18 September, two days after butchtering his spouse.
Kalu stated that the suspect claimed he killed the wife because she confessed that she was having extra marital affairs.
Subsequently, he was arrested and the police visited the crime scene, where they found the corpse of the woman, which they recovered and deposited at the Jeremi Hospital Mortuary for autopsy.
