The Manchester derby friendly slated for tonight in China has cancelled.

The cancellation is believed to be due to weather conditions.

Manchester United confirmed the cancellation via its official Twitter handle (@ManUtd).

Due to recent weather events, tournament organisers & participating clubs have decided to cancel tonight's International Champions Cup game.

Manchester City also confirmed the cancellation on its website in a statement on Monday.

“Due to recent weather events, tournament organisers and participating clubs have made the decision to cancel tonight’s International Champions Cup fixture to be played in Beijing tonight, 25 July.”

Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola were set to face themselves for the first time in their new clubs in Monday’s friendly.
