‘Many killed as Boko Haram attacks Borno village’

At least five villagers have been killed after Boko Haram terrorists attacked a village in Borno State, SaharaReporters reports.

The insurgents reportedly stormed a remote village of Azur in Damboa local government area at about 8:30 am.

They reportedly shot sporadically and burned down houses after carting away foodstuffs and livestock.

A member of vigilantes group in Damboa town, Abubakar Jojo said, “They came and opened fire on our men on guard, we lost three member and two others. They overpowered our members and wounded 9 persons”

“They looted our foodstuffs and made away with livestock including goats and rams thereafter they set ablaze our houses,” said Abubakar.

The latest attack is coming barely after 24 hours after more than 40 people including staff of NNPC, University of Maiduguri, Nigerian troops, and CJTF were ambushed and killed in Magumeri local government area.
