@Ohluwamayowa: When being intelligent becomes a problem (Y! Superblogger)

by Mayowa Ogundele

Many a times, in the privacy of my mind, I entertain thoughts of being an intelligent woman. Oh yes… I like to think that a lot… even though, sometimes, I end up not believing it.

Still, I love the idea of being a sapiosexual (google it). I also love meeting intelligent people. I feel an instant attraction to such individuals.

Trust me… a conversation with such people gets my blood flowing right. I can feel excitement moving through my veins. It’s a potent feeling.

It’s priceless, really… HOWEVER, my alarms start screaming when someone shows signs of becoming too intelligent.

I like to think that some of the people who label themselves atheists, do so because they have become too intelligent to accept things that cannot be proven (in a manner acceptable to them).

How do I mean? Or, how/when does one become “too intelligent”?

Being intelligent becomes a problem when we no longer have peace. We, (yes! WE the intelligent folks) should know when to pipe down for the sake of peace.

Depending on the situation, I’d rather be able to live in peace with other people, than be the intelligent but problematic individual.

Moving on, another major problem with intelligent people is that they become too intelligent for God.

I like to think that some of the people who label themselves atheists, do so because they have become too intelligent to accept things that cannot be proven (in a manner acceptable to them).

They have become too advanced in their thinking to BELIEVE that ‘God Is’. Simple as ABC.

Another problem is, (over) intelligent people can become extremely libral about certain issues.

For example… they would see nothing wrong with same sex lovers wanting recognition and approval… sigh. (That’s a discussion for another day).

So… as much as I crave intelligence and the company of those who have it in admirable measure….

I am concerned that being too intelligent may be a problem, itself.

What do you think?
