“Mbu is a shameless puppet” || Amaechi mocks the self-proclaimed lion of the Police force

by Kolapo Olapoju

Following the declaration by AIG, Joseph Mbu, that he was a lion who managed to tame a leopard of Port Harcourt, Governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi, the latter has replied him calling him a toothless attack dog and a corrupt puppet.

Mbu had made the statement on Monday, 15 September,  in Abuja, while handing over to the Commissioner of Police in the Federal Capital Territory, Wilson Inalegwu.

Responding to Mbu’s unflattering comments, Amaechi has issued a rebuttal through his spokesperson, Mr. David Iyofor in Port Harcourt.

He stated, “It is very sad, pathetic and ironic that Mbu called himself a lion. Which lion? This character called Joseph Mbu completely lacks the courage, steel and strength of a lion. Rather he is a puppet. This is a man paid by taxpayers to protect, secure and serve the interests of the people, but, when he was in Rivers State, he spurned the people, trampled on the masses and rather elected to be the partisan servant of one person, in causing disaffection, confusion and crises in Rivers State.”

Amaechi, through his statement, said Mbu deliberately disobeyed the order of the Inspector General of Police during his tenure in Rivers state, adding that he was a disgrace to the Nigerian Police Force,

“Mbu shamelessly and corruptly turned himself into a toothless attack dog to fight the government and people of Rivers State. How can a man who has no strength of character; a man who willingly submits himself to serve as a puppet call himself a lion? How ironic. Mr. Mbu, no lion behaves like that. You are a disgrace and shame to the Nigerian Police Force. Mbu not only disobeyed the Inspector General of Police during his time in Rivers State, but also clearly acted lawlessly, like a man who was above the law and in fact, turned himself into the law.”

The statement also accused Mbu of being a puppet of a woman, whom he allowed control his actions.

“All these, Mbu did because he was the puppet of one woman, a woman who clearly has no constitutional role to play in the governance of Rivers State or Nigeria. Mbu’s only claim to fame and prominence is because he has turned himself into a willing tool and servant of this woman. Mbu is a very bad example of a police officer.”
