The Media Blog: We found a gem called ‘Village Factor’

An essay on colonial architecture in Lagos. An interrogation of JayZ’s 4:44 album. Headlines like ‘Five Black Novels about Afrofuturism’. A deconstruction of Nico Mbarga.

Just the kinds of things you find on this cite little online platform we discovered called VillageFactor.com.

Describing itself, it says, “Village Factor curates the most compelling stories on ideas, culture, media, design, reviews, quick-fire commentaries and everything in-between – for the enlightened Nigerian (and African).”

In between our musings as to how exactly this scales, and how exactly it will sustain itself within a market notoriously hostile to anything beyond skin-deep, at least we can say we like it, and we think you should read it.

You will, won’t ya?
