You know when someone decides that they are putting their feet on the necks of everyone else, and they won’t be taking them off till they’re ready? That is what Toke Makinwa is doing to the Nigerian media space right now.
Even if we wanted to, we wouldn’t be able to stop talking about her, because she keeps giving us plenty to talk about. Like yesterday, on Rubbin’ Minds, when she casually let slip that she’s currently the most followed Nigerian media personality on Instagram, with just over 1 million followers.
It’s just after the 2:30s mark in the video.
And while “media personality” might be a fairly broad term, we’re going to go ahead and assume Toke didn’t mean to include musicians/actors/comedians, who are the only people who have her beat.
All of which is to say, she isn’t lying. She really has steamrolled past her peers.
What a wow.
