Minister Aisha Al-Hassan might be a little confused about her job | The YNaija Effectiveness Ranking

Aisha Alhassan Minsiter of women affairs

Yet again our Ministers go unseen. Kudos to Aisha Alhassan, Minister of Women Affairs for at least coming out of the woodwork and making her presence known the past week.

It is, however, the result of a rather baffling action. The Minister led a delegation of members of the All Progressives Congress hailing from Taraba State, to the party headquarters in Abuja. Apparently, they feel sidelined by President Buhari.

Now, credit to Alhassan for speaking up for what she clearly believes in, but it begs the question – is this, or rather, should this really be her concern? We’re not entirely sure how the work of a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria involves agitating for appointments by the president of the country. Perhaps it would be more justifiable if this had been specifically about women from Taraba State. At least that would have been within her purview, in some desperate, twisted way.

So while this gets the Minister an honourable mention for her efforts, it betrays a lack of focus that knocks her out of our top ten.
