After an electric season of MTV Shuga: Down South, the show is back to Nigeria for season 4 and a new cast was unveiled on Tuesday at a press briefing, old characters reprising their roles like Tobi (Timini Egbuson) and Faa (Adebukola Oladipupo). However, one character that wasn’t introduced at the briefing is Jemima Osunde’s Leila. That said, and according to one of the new directos of the show Tope Oshin, the new installment of the show will revolve around the theme of ”choices.”
Tolulope Ajayi and Daniel Ademinokan joins Oshin as directors as well. The MTV Shuga shows are popular for tackling and addressing a myriad of issues like family planning, safe sex, gender-based violence, peer pressure, and the last season of MTV Shuga Naija explored rape and rape culture, especially in the music industry. If you recall, Faa the video vixen was raped by music label executive just after her career in music was about to take off.
The upcoming season promises to be bigger and better, and if it weren’t obvious already, Big Brother Naija alum Tobi Bakare joins the Shuga family as a new cast member. The premiere date for the show hasn’t be announced yet, but meet the new cast below:
