How much longer till the APC quits the blame game?

By now, Nigerians must have become accustomed to the ruling party, All Progressives Congress’ penchant for blaming the past administration for its own inadequacies and failures.

The blame game was appropriate at the beginning of this administration last year but it’s over a year and President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC still haven’t gotten over the inadequacies of former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.

Nigerians are fed up and demand results from this government, not childish banter between the opposition parties.

In a statement issued on Monday by the special adviser to the President on media and publicity, Garba Shehu, we are told that this government has saved a total of N8 billion monthly after cancelling payrolls that were hitherto used for ghostworkers.

While this is much appreciated, Nigerians would rather the Special Adviser makes such statements without dragging the past administration’s mistakes into it.

“If the PDP were still in power, they would have continued deceiving people, by borrowing to fund stealing and wastage and the problem would have simply been postponed for future generations to face”, he said.

All of these are laid-down facts that most Nigerians have already come to terms with, but to be reminded every time they ask for viable results is off-putting.

Some Twitter users who feel the blame game has lasted too long share some of their thoughts.

APC Chairman, John Oyegun in a recent statement said that the party will continue to blame the PDP for the economic woes of the country. But for how long?
