The Nigerian Senate has passed the bill seeking to establish a National Grazing Reserves Agency through first reading after it appeared on the floor of the house today.
The bill was sponsored by Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, All Progressives Congress, Kano Central and co-sponsored by others.
The bill, which was read for the first time at the senate bears a striking resemblance to another bill- the National Grazing Reserve Bill which had passed through second reading at the senate floor.
The National Grazing Reserve Bill is still a subject of intense controversy and public outcry especially in the Southern part of the country and some parts of the North as it was built against the backdrop of several attacks carried out by suspected herdsmen across the country.
The attacks have left hundreds of people dead, farms destroyed and hundreds of millions worth of property destroyed in different states across the country.
