The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed a claim by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that the ruling party planned to scuttle its National Convention.
Background:
- Spokesperson of the ruling party, Bolaji Abdullahi had criticised the PDP’s convention, stating that it showed “corruption is in the DNA” of the party.
- In response, the PDP accused the APC of being jittery because its plans to scuttle the convention failed.
What is happening:
Through its official Twitter handle, the ruling party said it never planned to scuttle PDP’s convention.
APC said the opposition’s convention “didn’t go beyond the standards you’ve always operated on.”
The party said, “We never planned scuttling your convention. On the contrary, we’re glad you finally organised one, though it didn’t go beyond the standards you’ve always operated on. We can’t wait to have you assume your responsibility as an opposition, which you’ve failed to do in the last 2yrs.”
