Not backing down: Baraje-led PDP elects National Working Committee members

The recently created faction of the Peoples Democratic Party popularly known as the ‘New PDP’ has maintained a strong front despite the opposition it has received from the Federal Government.

The Abubakar Baraje-led faction has gone ahead to ratify the  election of its national officers despite the sealing of its secretariat.

A statement  reportedly issued yesterday by the National Secretary, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, said stakeholders of the party across the country ratified the election of members of its National Working Committee at a meeting in Abuja.

The NWC members are: Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, (Chairman); Dr Sam Sam Jaja, (Deputy National Chairman); Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, (National Secretary); and Hon. Maode Umar Hiliya (Deputy National Secretary).

Others are Mr. Timi Frank (National Youth Leader); Hon Binta Koje, National woman leader; Mallam Nasir Issa (National Organising Secretary); Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze (National Publicity Secretary); Hon. Aliyu Wadada (National Financial Secretary);  and Mallam Tanko Isiaku Gomna (National treasurer).

The positions of National Auditor and of National Legal Adviser, which are zoned to the South East and South West respectfully, will be announced soon, the statement added.
