The All Progressives Congress has condemned the threatening comments made by the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, against the Igbo ethnic groups in Lagos state.

The party, in an attempt to stay out of the brouhaha, has completely distanced itself from the mess created by the first class monarch.

In a series of tweets posted on its Twitter timeline, APC communicated it’s disapproval of the Oba’s utterances:

  1. I’m totally shocked and short of words. What sort of frustration could have made the respected monarch loose self control. This is against the cherished and adored Yoruba culture and traditions. I want to believe that the oba’s pronouncements was a slipped of tongue and therefore he needs to make corrections. He should therefore find a way to appease the Ndigbo.
He did not speak for the APC or Ambode. It was certainly his personal opinion of which is entitled.
