The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has disowned the Facebook account in Commandant General Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu’s name.
This was disclosed in a statement on Thursday by the Corps Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Okeh stating that Muhammadu does not operate any Facebook account. “Therefore any facebook in the name of the officer is illegal, fake and fraudulent. The corps has intensified efforts to apprehend and prosecute those online scammers operating fake social media accounts to deceive the citizens.
“The NSCDC therefore urges the general public, especially contractors and job-seekers to be wary of such Facebook accounts being operated by fraudsters to hoodwink and deceive members of the public,” the statement said.
