Oduah loses application to stop investigation

Former Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah has lost an application she filed to stop the Federal Government from investigating her tenure as minister.

Justice Adamu Kafarati, of the Federal High Court, Abuja on Wednesday, said the suit lacked merit.

Oduah had urged the court to stop the alleged plan by the EFCC, ICPC and police to arrest, investigate and prosecute for purchasing two amoured vehicles.

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) had bought the vehicles while Oduah was in office.

Oduah had argued that the House of Representatives’ Committee on Aviation and absolved her of any wrong doing.

She prayed for an order prohibiting the respondents from inviting, arresting, otherwise harassing or prosecuting her over the matter.

Justice Kafarati said the subject matter of the case was not a fundamental rights issue.

He held that the case was without merit and dismissed it.
