A technician has been arraigned by Policemen of Azikoro Divisional headquarters of the Bayelsa Police Command before a magistrate’s court, for stealing N720,000 offering money, belonging to a church along the Swali area of the state.
The technician carried out the theft when he was hired by the church pastor to repair a leaking roof in his office. The criminal is a member of the congregation, which is believed to a ‘Winners’ Chapel church.
While alone in the room, the technician reportedly started stuffing bundles of naira notes into his pockets, but unfortunately for him, he was caught in the act by the pastor who happened to return to the office.
The pastor called the attention of church members, who apprehended the technician and handed him to the Azikoro Police division.
