The crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo state just got messier few days to the governorship election, as security men attached to Jimoh Ibrahim, one of the factional candidates were alleged to have opened fire on the campaign office of Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), the other factional candidate, Leadership reports.
According to the media aide to Jegede, Mr. Kayode Fasua, the shooting lasted for over 10 minutes, and no fewer than 10 people were left injured.
Fasua alleged that Ibrahim, and his convoy comprising of over 30 vehicles stopped at the campaign office on Monday afternoon shooting sporadically at the building.
Fasua’s allegation was however denied by a member of Jimoh Ibrahim Campaign Committee, Hon. Demola Ijabiyi, who said the security men only shot into the air to prevent the convoy of Ibrahim from being attacked by the sympathisers of Jegede.
