Opinion: Is Bisi Akande senile or simply stupid?

At 77 years of age, words like ignorance, ill-mannered, uncharitable, unpatriotic, hypocrite, unguarded, manic and unscrupulous should not be used to qualify an elder, but an elder who constitute nuisance constantly without regard for decorum to mislead the general public at will must be called out with such denigrating words.

Bisi Akande, the All Progressive Congress erstwhile Chairman and party leader should be cautioned on his half baked opinions and given a lesson on ethos & public speaking.

In an earlier statement, he described the 2016 ‘missing’ budget as an indication of the indiscipline that produced it’s leadership. Obviously, the old man foaming at the mouth with rage was still in some morbid pain at the National Assembly Elections that brought in the present leadership. His anointed candidates were floored at both Chambers.

It is disheartening that Bisi Akande has chosen to neglect the deafening silence from the Presidency and its Special Adviser on National Assembly Matter, Senator Ita Enang on the true state of the budget.

His puckered grey hair also, refused him reasoning on the statement released by the NASS leadership acknowledging that the budget had been tampered with and that they will only accept the copy submitted by the Presidency.

For men of wisdom, there could only be one summary; that there never was a ’missing’ budget as far as the National Assembly was concerned. Unfortunately, Bisi Akande’s experience in the public sector for over three decades has come to be questioned on his account of demonstration of crass ignorance and lack of intelligence demanded of his age.

Those closer to Bisi Akande will do him a lot good by advising him to spend more quality time with his grand kids and extended family that are deficient of his fatherly care.

At a time when technocrats and men of valour are in dire need to help Nigeria steer its sheep, Bisi Akande continues to display gross ignorance and lack of consideration to smear the integrity of the law making-arm.

Bisi Akande need be reminded that he does no justice to his age and status by peddling falsehood and propaganda.  If he must speak on national issues, it has to be research bound, balanced and devoid of causing apartheid.

Bisi Akande and his ilk are blinded to the current reality of events, cheap blackmail and several other attempts used in the past to undermine the integrity of the 8th National Assembly will no longer be condone. Obviously, their type grew up speaking from both sides of the mouth; once they are in control, it is democracy at work. When the tide changes; they turn despotic running their mouth to seek relevance.

The voice of the people is the constitution, and that’s the only recognisable, valid law in the Country.

We’ll not confuse senility with outright foolishness because Nigeria is blessed with ‘’old’ men and women who non propagandist, and will always put national interest first irrespective of whether they stand to benefit from the government- these are the people Pa Bisi Akande should attempt to emulate.
