Gay rights activists and members of the gay community have protested the arraignment of two men accused of being in a same sex relationship in Anambra State.

On Wednesday, protesters interrupted court proceedings at the Atani Chief Magistrate’s Court at about 9am to support the accused men who were arrested by the state police command.

According to reports, they sang anti-police and court songs saying their fundamental human rights should not be oppressed demanding the unconditional release of the two accused men.

They reported vowed to continue to fight for their rights despite the move by the National Assembly to criminalise their relationships.

The Punch reports:

A large number of them came to the court with femine outlook to the surprise of the people around.

However, the two accused persons, whose identities could not immediately be confirmed, were later remanded in prison, as the magistrate’s court said it had no jurisdiction to try the matter.

  2. Please stone them to death, they are disgrace to igbo land.

  3. The picture above pictures anti-gay protesters; one placard clearly states that ‘gayism is satanic,’ so how are they in support of the gay guys?
