A pastor, Moyo Martins has been arraigned for cutting off the finger of his neighbour’s daughter.
The cleric was arraigned on Wednesday, 29 October, before a Chief Magistrate court, sitting in Yaba, Lagos, on a charge of causing grievous bodily harm on a two-year-old girl.
According to the police prosecutor, ASP Godwin Anyanwu, the pastor committed the offence on 6 March, at his residence in Iwaya, Onike, Lagos. He revealed that the accused cut off the index finger of the toddler at 1.10 pm.
Emmanuel Bassey, counsel to the accused, informed the court that parties in the suit had agreed to settle the case out of court.
In her ruling, the Magistrate, Yewande Aje-Afunwa, adjourned the case to 19 November for report on the settlement, while granting him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
