National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Adamu Mu’azu, has alleged that the current fuel scarcity in the country was sponsored by opposition leaders.

In a series of tweets on his official Twitter page, Mu’azu claimed that some opposition leaders and other ‘vested interests’ were behind the hoarding of fuel which, he says was responsible for fuel scarcity in the country.

While failing to mention the names of the opposition leaders involved, the PDP chairman stated that the fuel scarcity was orchestrated to belittle the profile of President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of the general elections.

He however, added that every plan to tarnish the image of President Jonathan would fail.

In the tweets, Mu’azu said: “Concerned Nigerians have drawn our attention to the fact that some opposition leaders and vested interest are behind hoarding of fuel. Concerned Nigerians also draw our attention to plans by those who control the South-West disco to sabotage electricity in the zone.”

“We assure Nigerians, they will fail. All their plans to tarnish the image of government will fail like all other previous attempts. We want to assure concerned Nigerians, especially all of you here on social media, that we will reverse this trend soonest.”
