PDP, Fayose are threats to Nigeria’s democracy – APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti on Tuesday said Governor Ayodele Fayose and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are threats to the nation’s democracy.

The APC said this in a statement by the Ekiti APC Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun, while reacting to the governor’s outburst that President Muhammadu Buhari was Nigeria’s problem.

The statement said the PDP shared funds meant for the fight against Boko Haram among its leaders, including Fayose which led to the death of several Nigerians.

“During his first term between 2003 and 2006, all international development agencies operating in Ekiti State, including the World Bank and British DFID, relocated from Ekiti when they could no longer cope with the opaque manner Fayose was conducting government’s business in relation to the agencies’ partnership with his administration,” the statement said.

The statement also said Fayose “masterminded the greatest electoral fraud in history.”

“Again, Fayose’s name rang around the world when he masterminded the greatest electoral fraud in history, mobilising the military for treason to menace the opposition, compromising INEC by illegally obtaining its sensitive materials and drawing on nation’s defence vote to manipulate his election in what is Nigeria’s greatest electoral blues known as Ekitigate,” it said.
