She ain’t the first, and surely Tonto Dikeh would not be the last big screen actress to try her might in the music industry. In fact, for her the signs were there.
In November 2011, Tonto had featured in “Iyawo Wind”, the up-beat track by Kas. And remember her role as dancer in Patience Ozokwor’s ‘Muma G’ compilation?
On Wednesday 17th October 2012, she would be taking it a step further by officially releasing her debut track titled “Itz Ova.”
As recently as last week, Tonto had entered into a twitter fight with some of her followers, when she made the announcement that she was working on the track.
The track, which is produced by Teso music and features upcoming act Synpa, is a break up song, according to sources close to the actress.
With this announcement, Tonto Dikeh, who won The Future Awards 2012 Actress of the Year, is set to join the list of popular Nollywood actresses like Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and Stella Damasus, who ventured into music at some points in their careers.
