The Bauchi Police Command in collaboration with Danga Security and vigilante group has arrested 14 kidnappers in their hideouts in Bauchi.
According to a statement issued on Friday by the command’s Public Relations Officer ASP Mahmoud Mohammed, 5 motorcycles and 4 guns were recovered.
The kidnappers; all male were aged between 18 and 40 years, and were all from Jana district of Toro LGA.
Two hostages were rescued during the operation.
The arrested suspects include:
1. Umar Gwamna 19 years,
2. Ibrahim Yahaya 25 years,
3. Hussaini Hamisu 20 years,
4. Salisu Adamu 20 years,
5. Salmanu Hamisu 23 years,
6. Ibrahim M. Hussaini 25 years,
7. Abdullahi Hamisu 23 years,
8. Yahaya Mai Saje 21 years,
9. Lukman Hamisu 18 years,
10. Nasiru Halilu 20 years,
11. Sani Abdullahi 35 Years,
12. Musa Audu 22 years,
13. Rabiu Adamu 20 years and,
14. Mohammed S. Abdullahi 40 years.
The following exhibits were also recovered from the suspects:
1. 5 Motorcycles
2. 3 fabricated guns.
3. One single barrel gun and,
4. Four handsets
The statement said investigation is still ongoing and the suspects will be charged to court.
