President Trump opens up his first coal mine in Pennysylvania

President Trump’s administration has achieved a feat — the opening of the first new coal mine in the recent history of the United States. The mine will be operated by the Corsa Coal Company in Somerset County, just outside Pittsburgh. George Dethlefsen said the mine will be a boon to the struggling local economy, Fox insider reports.

George Dethlefsen, CEO of Corsa Coal said the mine is a huge asset to the struggling local economy. He praised the President’s effort and encouragement for fossil fuel exploration. and added that 400 people applied for the 70 job positions available.

Governor of Pennsylvania Tom Wolf (D), who endorsed Clinton during the 2016 campaign, joined the mining company in watching a video message from Trump commemorating the occasion.

According to reports, R.J Harris, a longtime host on Harrisburg’s 580-WHP, said the mine opening is a “shot in the arm” for the economy, He is optimistic that Corsa’s mine opening is evidence that Trump can help turn the region’s economy around. The mine will reportedly be producing metallurgical or bituminous coal – which is used in steel-making – while anthracite is the type often used in energy production.
