Puerto Rico experiences improved relief aids after Hurricane Maria

As against earlier difficulties experienced in delivering relief aids to the hurricane battered Puerto Rico due to the damage suffered by the island, smile has begin to roll on the faces of Puerto Ricans as relief packages founds their way gradually to the island.

Puerto Rico was left severely damaged by Hurricane Maria last week just after salvaging the effect of the previous Hurricane Irma that also struck the island three weeks ago. The island was plunged into total darkness with lack of adequate communication.

President Trump has however confirmed that relief packages in the form of water and food have reached the island coupled with generators to cushion the effect of of lack of power supply.

Trump wrote in a tweet: “The electric power grid in Puerto Rico is totally shot. Large numbers of generators are now on Island. Food and water on site”.

Earlier on Thursday, Facebook CEO announced the deployment of Facebook staffs to help restore communications on the island and equally donated $1.5million to further facilitate the relief and restoration efforts.
