Rann IDPs bombing: Five victims still hospitalised

Families of victims of the Rann IDPs bombing have said they are yet to receive any compensation for their losses, Punch reports.

A Nigerian Air Force fighter jet had on January 17, 2017, bombed the camp, killing 112 persons and injuring 97.

Spokesperson for the International Committee of the Red Cross, Aleksandra Matijevic, also said five victims were still hospitalised and receiving treatment.

Matijevic said, “Five persons are still in the last phase of the wound healing at the state Specialist Hospital in Maiduguri.”

Director, Defence Information, Maj. Gen. John Enenche when contacted said the report which was the ‘most important thing’ was still being expected.

“The immediate task is to conclude the investigation on the cause of the unfortunate incident. The report on the Rann incident is still being awaited,” he said.
