‘Return Nigeria to its booming economy, then resign’ | PDP tells Buhari

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to resign his position immediately.

This is contained in a statement signed in Abuja by the Spokesperson of its National Caretaker Committee, Prince Dayo Adeyeye.

The PDP also told President Buhari to ensure that he returns Nigeria to its booming economy before resigning and handing over governance to capable hands.

“Therefore, we are calling on President Buhari and his team to return Nigeria to its state of booming economy before they assumed office in May, 2015, and then quit immediately to allow other capable leaders recover our ailing economy,” the statement said.

Adeyeye also cast aspersions on Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun for her statement that “recession is a word”.

He said, “Is this statement as a result of ignorance, lack of patriotism or in-line with President Buhari’s comment that his ministers are noise makers?

“For the record, recession is characterised as a period of negative economic growth for two consecutive quarters, given rise to high rate of unemployment, fall in output, increase in government borrowing, etc.”

The statement went further to say that the country is currently heading to a state of depression.

Adeyeye blamed the state of the economy for the suspension of operations by three airlines, and the sack of workers by both local and international companies.

He said that the APC has destroyed the reforms carried out by the PDP to give the aviation sector a ‘facelift’.

  1. PDP is a big disappointment. They really dont know their role as a major opposition. They allowed APC toil with their minds and fell for it.
They’re suppose to be the one putting fire on these clueless PMB and his cohorts asses but they’ve all gone to sleep and fighting each other
