#RioOlympics2016: Dream Team gets allowances, Etebo to miss Denmark game

Nigeria Olympic team have reportedly received their camp allowances for 22 days after threatening to boycott their quarter-final game against Denmark over unpaid allowances.

According to Africanfootball.com, the team’s spokesperson confirmed the news.

“The sports ministry has cleared all camp allowances of the Dream team in Rio, players and officials have now been paid 22 days allowances,” said team spokesman Timi Ebikagboro.

This means each player has now received $3,300 with coach Samson Siasia getting double that amount.

He also disclosed Etebo has been ruled out of tonight’s quarterfinal against Denmark, but will return should Nigeria advance to the semifinals.

Turkey-based Umar Aminu is expected to replace Etebo in the team’s attack tonight.
