Like Buhari, ‘there are saboteurs’ in Al-Makura’s administration

The Nasarawa state Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, has described some members of his cabinet as saboteurs, saying that he has lost faith in some of the senior officials.

Al-Makura stated this during an emergency meeting with heads of boards, ministries and parastatals (MDAs) at the council chamber of the Nasarawa state Government House.

Present at the meeting were Commissioners, special advisers to the government, permanent secretaries, heads of directors of board, tertiary institutions and parastatals.

The governor stated that: “This meeting is special and unique. I believe that when we practise democracy, we should do it in a good form. We need to promote democracy by sensitising the public on governance. Some of you here go around giving different impression about governance.”

“Let us concentrate our attention on the unity, vision and objective for which the state was created.”

“Is that the call for the creation of Nasarawa State? Do we achieve the objective of creating Nasarawa State? What are we bringing towards the development of Nasarawa State? Have you sat down and asked what value you have added to this state? What success story are you bringing to develop the state compared to its sister states?”

While noting that his government will pay salaries on time, Al-Makura also stated that he will empower 1,500 youth in the state to avoid youth restiveness in the state.

He further advised state workers to obtain their Bank Verification Number as salaries will not be paid without it.
