Over the weekend, three people used as human barrier were crushed to death by a luxury bus at the Ugwunagbo, Abia State axis of the Enugu/Port Harcourt Expressway.

Sun news reports that the victims were passengers of an Hiace bus returning from Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital to Aba.

The Hiace bus was raided by hoodlums who had blocked the express road.

The hoodlums ordered occupants of the bus out of the vehicle and after robbing them, also ordered their victims to lie face down on the tarred road to serve as human barrier that would force other vehicles to stop.

After a while, a luxury bus said to be on top speed, approached the scene and in an attempt to escape from the robbers, rammed into the victims lying on the road, crushing them instantly.

The Abia State police command’s spokesman, Geoffrey Ogbonna, confirmed the incident saying  investigation has begun while a manhunt for the robbers was in progress.

This is really sad.
