Senate President Bukola Saraki has hired a personal nurse for the mother of late Nigerian football icon Rashidi Yekini who died four years ago.
Earlier this year reports filtered in that the family of the late African Footballer of the Year and Nigeria’s legendary footballer, particularly his mother, Sikiratu Yekini and younger brother, Akeem, were struggling to survive after the demise of their breadwinner.
Saraki took it upon himself to help ameliorate the plight of the family by completely renovating the Yekini’s home in Kwara state and also stocking Alhaja Sikiratu’s shop with food items.
A tricycle (Keke NAPEP) was also provided for Yekini’s younger brother, Akeem.
Saraki also approved the provision of constant medical services for the player’s aged mother.
