Season of endorsements: Suswam says no contest for David Mark

by Godwin Akanfe

As the 2015 general election approaches, Benue State governor, Gabriel Suswam, has said that Senator David Mark remains the choice candidate for the Benue South Senatorial district.

Speaking on Tuesday, at the public presentation of a book: “Suswam, Politics and governance in Benue State”, in Abuja, the governor said the Benue South Senatorial seat currently being occupied by the President of the Senate will not be vacant in 2015.

“Our decision to return him to the Senate in 2015 is irrevocable. We in Benue State have endorsed the candidature of Mark to return to the Senate. The position of Senator Mark is not contestable. We want him back and there is no question or argument about it.”

Suswam also declared the state’s support for President Goodluck Jonathan’s 2015 re-election.

“Just as the state remains united behind Mark for the 2015 senatorial election, it is equally behind the candidacy of Jonathan”.

  1. All politicians who have been in the system for about four to eight years should give other people the opportunity to serve their father land and for the fact that good things are not made for one person. And those supporting or giving automatic ticket to incumbency leaders are just after their self interest.
