“Seek other avenues for your relevance” | Nigerian Army blasts Fayose

The Nigerian Army on Thursday blasted the governor of Ekiti, Ayodele Fayose, for saying the corruption in the army isn’t allowing them defeat Boko Haram.

The Governor had on Wednesday said, “This report (United States “Country Report on Terrorism 2016” and the Transparency International Report) has further lent credence to earlier revelation by the Transparency International (TI) that despite President Muhammadu Buharigovernment’s anti-corruption fight, corruption in the military is weakening Nigeria’s efforts to battle to battle Boko Haram.

“The report is also a confirmation that the SSS has abandoned its core responsibility of intelligence gathering and turned itself into the instrument of political oppression, invading judges residences in the night,” the governor said.

In reaction this, The Nigerian Army wrote on Twitter, “Gov Ayodele Fayose should stop politicizing the military and military OPs, seek other avenues for your relevance. The Army today is not corrupt.”

  1. What more relevance? We have 36 state’s in Nigeria, he is a governor of one of the states. He is the chairman of the governors forum of the PDP and he is active with a bright future a head. What is relevance?.
