A former registrar of the Ambrose Alli University in Edo was stopped in his tracks when he found the body of his wife dangling from a ceiling.

Larry Edokpayi is said to have searched for his wife, Kate, within their home and had begun to suspect that she had been kidnapped until he checked the ‘boys quarters’ at their home in Ekpoma, where the university is also situated.

Mr. Edokpayi was then accosted by the sight of his wife’s corpse and was said to have been severely traumatized by the discovery.

It has been assumed that Mrs. Edokpayi took her life out of frustration over her recurring health challenges.

Leadership reports:

Till her death, she was an assistant director with the Edo State Ministry of Education, overseeing the ministry’s office in Ekpoma.

Though she did not leave any suicide note, it is suspected that she died out of frustration over her health challenge.

Sources have it that she had repeatedly expressed her frustration over her inability to get a cure for diabetes which was afflicting her.

LEADERSHIP gathered, from a source which was privy to incident, that the husband who recently retired from the service of the Ambrose Alli University, had suspected kidnapping, after a long search before he was advised to check the boy’s quarter.

On getting to the boys’ quarters, Edokpayi was said to have observed that the door was bolted from behind, and ordered it to be forced open. He was reportedly devastated when he found the corpse of his wife dangling from the ceiling.
