Sokoto To Experience Her First TED Event, TEDxArkilla, This Weekend

On Saturday, November 25th, 2017, the first ever TEDx event in the seat of the Caliphate, TEDxArkilla will be held at the Conference Hall, Iman International School, Arkilla, Sokoto State.

The exclusive event features an incredible line up of speakers from, in, and outside Sokoto State, who are revered authorities in their fields, ready to share from years of expertise in Education, Media, Entrepreneurship, Technology, Advocacy, Literature, Politics, among others.

The theme for this historic edition of TEDxArkilla is “Beneath, Beyond, Above’’ which aims to explore the complexities of our collective humanity, probing the past, the present and future, shining the light in unlikely places, illuminating daunting, yet underexposed, ideas necessary to trigger unique solutions to complex issues facing northern Nigeria and the Nigerian society at large.

According to Adedapo Treasure Adeniruju, the curator for TEDxArkilla: “First I consider it a platform to give back to a community that revealed to me in layers, a different perception of our collective humanity. I realized this land has too much greatness in it just lying bare in wait of discovery, too much opportunities and ideas waiting to evolve and be explored. The fulfillment is in seeing participants evolve, into new thinking, taking on bold ideas and stepping into new futures. TEDxArkilla comes to connect local residents and newcomers, students and experts, business leaders and emerging innovators with new creative solutions and opportunities spurred by sparks of conversation and new relationships necessary for shaping the future”.
