‘Our son; Fayose is losing his senses… he needs help’ – South West APC

Spokespersons of the All Progressives Congress in the South West states have called on monarchs and royal fathers of the region to ‘fervently pray’ for Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, to regain his senses.

The Publicity Secretaries of the APC said it was out of place for Fayose to write the Chinese President to reject Nigeria’s request for a $2bn loan.

A statement released on Tuesday addressing Fayose’s actions was signed by APC spokesmen of Ondo State, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya; Ekiti, Taiwo Olatunbosun; Ogun, Sola Lawal; Joe Igbokwe of Lagos and the Osuna state spokesperson of the party, Morakinyo Akintola.

They said the governor has exhibited series of erratic behaviour that it’s increasingly becoming doubtful whether he’s still sane.

“His thoughts and emotions have been so impaired that he has completely lost decorum and conduct expected of a man that can safely live in peace with other people in a sane society where the law works.”

“The governor went to the House of Assembly with the gavel to conduct a voice vote to pass the 2016 budget. He sits on the road median treating official files and goes to the market personally carting away traders’ tables and chairs, including their wares.”

“The last was his embarrassing and illegal communication with the Chinese authority urging President XI Jinping to refuse financial assistance to Nigeria to enable the country address her economic challenges.”

“Also in China, he mounted a rostrum at a train station addressing travellers in tattered clothings and posted his photograph on the Internet, claiming that he was addressing investors in China even when there was no Federal Government’s approval that he ought to seek before a state can embark on such diplomatic trip.”

“Besides, Fayose’s intervention on the nation’s appropriation matter is an exclusive function of the National Assembly.”

“Governor Fayose is one of our sons. He needs help. We want him to succeed as an individual and as the Governor of Ekiti State (The Land of Honour). Therefore, we cannot continue to watch him drag the revered name of Yoruba in the mud in the name of government’s criticism. He’s gradually stepping beyond his bounds.”

“This is the essence of our appeal to all Yoruba Obas and religious leaders to pray fervently for and on behalf of Fayose to regain his senses because, an injury to one, we believe is an injury to all.”
