Nigerian troops and the Borno Youths Empowerment, also known as Civilian JTF, killed 4 female suicide bomber, suspected to be Boko Haram members.

The bombers were intercepted by troops and Civilian JTF as they approached a checkpoint which is about 25km outskirts of the city of Maiduguri.

The suicide bombers were attempting ‘to bypass a military checkpoint through a nearby village before they were ordered to take the right road.’

“However, few metres short of the checkpoint, one of the bombers swiftly detonated her

“Sadly, one of the Civilian JTF lost his live and 4 other persons sustained various degrees of injuries. The Nigeria Police Explosive Ordinance Device team in the area safely detonated the unexploded Improvised Explosive Device carried by the other suicide bombers.”
