Tanks, heavily armed officers guard Lamido and son’s arraignment

Tanks were reportedly rolled out while heavily armed police officers stood guard at the ongoing arraignment of former governor of Jigawa, Sule Lamido and his son, Aminu Sule Lamido.

The pair are today, July 9, appearing before Justice Riman Fatu at a Federal High Court along New Court road in Kano.

Vanguard reports that a long stretch of the road which leads to the court has been cordoned off, for the period of the court session.

Father and son are alleged to have laundered a great deal of money when the former was governor.

The heavy security presence and measures may be due to the recent bombing in the state.
