Suspected Fulani herdsmen kill university staff, injure one

Suspected Fulani herdsmen have reportedly killed one Sunday Idama, a senior official of the Delta State University in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.

It was learnt that Idama died of machete cuts after herdsmen invaded his cassava farm at Ovre-Abraka, on Saturday.

It was gathered that the incident has sparked public outcry, while many of the indigenes have stayed away from their farms.

Another indigene of Obiaruku community whose identity is not yet clear, was attacked in his farm by suspected herdsmen and suffered gunshot wounds.

It was gathered that the victim was rushed to a hospital for medical treatment by sympathisers after he struggled to a roadside where he was rescued.

A source alleged that security operatives have been shielding the herdsmen, while over 20 persons have been killed.
