‘Suspected herdsmen kill 4 in Benue communities’

Suspected Fulani herdsmen have attacked two communities in Logo and Buruku local government areas of Benue State, where four persons were reportedly killed between Tuesday and Wednesday.

Sources said the suspected herders attacked Mbavuur in Logo Local Government Area on Wednesday and killed two persons.

They were said to have proceeded to Mbaya ward in Buruku Local Government Area, where two persons were also killed.

The attacks came barely four days after the suspected Fulani herders attacked three communities namely, Tse Akaa, Mba’abaji and Tse Orlalu all in Ugondo Mbanar district of Logo Local Government Area of the state.

Former Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, in Logo Local Government Area, Mr Ndiisaa Terhemen said the invaders first stormed the Tse-Igboughul village on Tuesday at about 8pm, shot indiscriminately, killing two people.

He said, “The attack spilled over to the next day (Wednesday), which led to 10 persons sustaining injuries as a result of gunshots. They were rushed to hospitals in Zaki-Biam and Ugba, headquarters of the local government for treatment.”

The Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Moses Yamu, said he was not aware of the attack.
