#AbujaBombBlast : Angry mourners forcefully demand relatives’ corpses 

Unable to recover from the sudden death of their loved ones, some furious families of the victims from the blast have demanded the release of their relatives.

A group of young men who lost two of their colleagues in the tragic incident alleged that they had searched four hospitals for the corpses of two of their colleagues and finally found one of them at the hospital, forcefully demanded that the hospital should release the one that they saw. Tambuwal’s convoy kills 2 in Kaduna

A multiple accident involving the  convoy of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal in Kaduna, killed two people.

According to reports,  the accident occurred at about 10.45 am on Monday in Kaduna, along the ever-busy Ali Akilu road. Read more….

British High Commissioner to Nigeria donates blood to victims of Abuja blast

Following the bomb blast, Monday at Nyanya in Abuja, some of the injured victims at Asokoro Hospital needed blood urgently and the message was sent out to the public to come donate blood at the hospital or blood transfusion center. A lot of people came out to donate blood including the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Dr Andrew Pocock. Read more….

14 year-old child bride charged for killing husband,3 others in Kano

A 14 year-old bride, Wasila Tasi’u, was on Monday charged before a Rijiyar Zaki Magistrates’ Court in Kano for alleged culpable homicide.

Wasila is facing the charge for allegedly killing her 35 year-old groom, Umar Sani, and three others in Kademi village in Gaya Local Government Area.
The prosecutor, Insp. Yusuf Sale, alleged that the accused poisoned Sani’s food with some substance, popularly known as Ota pia pia. Read more….
Govt discovers 7,000 ghost students on scholarship 

Niger state government said it uncovered 7,000 ghost students on the payroll of its scholarship board.

The Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr Mohammad Nuhu, told journalists in Minna today that the discoveries were made during a verification exercise.

Nuhu said the discovery had saved the government over N125 million, noting that the achievement was as a result of the introduction of a scratch card issued to all scholarship beneficiaries. Read more….
